Navarro, Navarro…what else can I say 🙂
1 C oatmeal
2 T (or more) blueberry verjus reduction
1 C blueberries
1 C sugar
1 C Navarro Verjus
Directions: Simmer sugar blueberries and verjus for about 20 minutes (or longer, depending on how saucy you like your syrup).
mOMent: Today, take a moment to feel the breeze when you are outside today. Feel it touch your skin, the pressure it has, the way it moves the tiny hairs on your arms. What is the temperature, is it refreshing? Is it relaxing? Is it something you enjoy?
Among the many goodies we purchased at Navarro Vineyards back in February was this little delightful bottle of verjus. What is verjus you ask? It is the juice from green, unripened grapes.
Verjus Simple Syrup
1 C sugar
1 C verjus
Directions: simmer sugar and verjus for 5-10 minutes until it becomes liquid and reduces to a more syrup-y consistency.
1 C cooked old-fashioned oats
2 T verjus (or more to taste)
butter to taste
Directions: Mix verjus syrup and oatmeal together, add butter if you like and eat up!

For this recipe I used a wonderful product from Navarro Vineyards. I used the Olallieberry Zinfandel Preserves to sweeten the deal for today’s OM, and I would certainly do it again!
Navarro Olallieberry Zinfandel Preserves
1 C cooked old-fashioned oatmeal
2 T Navarro Olallieberry Zinfandel Preserves(divided)
1.5 T butter
1 T cream
Salt to taste
Sesame seeds for garnish
Mix well 1T of preserves, butter, cream and oatmeal in a bowl. Spoon remaining 1T of preserves on top and sprinkle sesame seeds. Add salt as desired.
