pumpkin molasses

Inspired by these delicious cookies that I made recently. I decided to use the same spices that were in these cookies…Yum!


1 C cooked oatmeal
a few shakes of ginger
a few shakes of nutmeg
a few shakes of cinnamon
1 T molasses (to taste)
1 T pumpkin

Directions: Mix all ingredients together and enjoy…

Blackstrap molasses is a great source of iron and manganese…It’s a powerhouse sweetener and is tasty.


1 C cooked oatmeal
1-3 t blackstrap molasses
1 T dried cherries

Molasses is a rich dark syrup and pistachios are another strong flavor.  Combined?  Yes, delicious…


1 C cooked oatmeal
1 T molasses
2 T pistachio nuts


Mix all ingredients together and enjoy!

mOMent: Do you ever have pity parties?  You know, times in your life where you just mope, pout and mutter negativity?  How do you get yourself out of that mood and into a more resourceful state?  One way that works for me almost every time is to take a rest…shut my eyes and let my mind relax.  When I arise, things seem to have settled a bit and I can look at things with a new perspective.  What works for you?

molasses pinenut

Sweet and sultry is how this tastes to me… Yum!


1 C cooked old-fashioned oats
1/4 C pinenuts
1 T grapeseed oil
1 T agave
1 t molasses


Heat grapeseed oil and agave in saucepan over medium heat until it bubbles.  Add pinenuts and saute for two minutes remove from heat while you add molasses.  Stir well and return to heat for two minutes.  Pour mixture on to a parchment lined baking sheet and heat in 400 degree oven for 3-4 minutes or until slightly toasted and brown.

Let cool and then add to oatmeal…Yummy pine-nutty…
