Ingredients:

1 C cooked oatmeal
1 T sunflower seed butter
2 T blackberry peach verjus
Directions:

Mix all ingredients together and enjoy!

cold fruity yumminess!

Well this morning it’s still hot from yesterday’s heat and I thought some cold fruity yumminess was in order.  So, this om of the day uses ingredients ice-cold from my fridge.

Ingredients:

1 C cooked oatmeal
1 blackberry peach verjus
1 t earth balance
1 t creamer
1 T strawberry sauce

Directions:

Stir in earth balance and creamer with oatmeal.  Add strawberry sauce and verjus, mix well!

mOMent: Studies say that screens such as computer monitors and televisions, cell phones and ipads can cause our brains to fatigue.  It is healthy and beneficial to get outside and rest that sweet brain of yours.  Consider taking a walk today with that intention, rest, recharge and recuperate…your brain will thank you.

blackberry peach cheesecake

This will satisfy your craving for sweet and cream cheesy.  It’s not exactly cheesecake, but it will do for breakfast.

Ingredients:

1 C cooked oatmeal
2 T blackberry peach verjus reduction (recipe here), plus a spoonful of fruit
1 T agave (or to taste)
1 T vegan cream cheese (or regular)
Directions:

Mix cream cheese, agave (if you like it sweet) and reduction with oatmeal well.  The oatmeal should melt the cream cheese and soon you’ll have a nice blend.  If you’re so inclined, garnish with a little of the blackberry peach fruit from the reduction.

Pop quiz, what’s in the spoon above?  Well, if you read the title I’m sure you guessed its coconut milk!  Which is thick enough to hold steady in a spoon.  Yum!

Ingredients:

1 C cooked oatmeal
1 T (heaping) coconut milk
2 spoonfuls of reduction
dash of salt

Reduction:

1 C fresh picked blackberries
1/2 C sliced peaches
1 C sugar
1 C Navarro Verjus (or any tart juice)

Directions:  Simmer sugar, fruit and verjus for about 20 minutes (or longer, depending on how saucy you like your reduction).

Add a heaping tablespoon of coconut milk to oatmeal and a dash of salt.  Mix well and garnish with reduction sauce!

mOMent: How do you know that you’ve been heard?  What does someone have to do to let you know that your concerns have been taken to heart?  Knowing this will help you to communicate better with those around you, facilitating smooth and conscious interaction.

We were pleasantly surprised when visiting our friends the other evening and they offered some fresh blackberries from their backyard.  I took them up on the offer and was quite happy when I realized that I had worn my boots, it made stomping through prickly vines that much easier.  Nevermind that half of the container was gone before we returned home…These blackberries pair nicely with the peaches and verjus in the reduction.  Yum!

Ingredients:

1 C oatmeal
2 T (or more) reduction sauce
2 spoonfuls of fruit from reduction

Reduction:

1 C fresh picked blackberries

Red – pomegranates, Black – blackberries, Blue – blue agave, plus a little coconut oil makes it so smooth.  Give it a try and let me know what you think…

Ingredients:

1 C cooked old-fashioned oats
1/3 C blackberries
1/4 C pomegranate seeds
1 T blue agave
almond milk to taste
1 tsp coconut oil

Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and enjoy this highly nutritious, balanced

and beautiful breakfast!

mOMent: If you could be any age again, just for a week, what age would you be?  What would you do?

Ingredients:

1 C cooked old-fashioned oats
half banana
1/2 C black berries
1/3 C orange juice

Directions:
Simmer berries in orange juice for about 5 minutes or until the juice becomes dark in color and a little saucy.  Add oatmeal to bowl, add bananas and berry mixture.  Enjoy!
